One-day Qigong Seminars
I run occasional one-day seminars on
Foundational Qigong in Ludlow that are ideal for
beginners. Exercises may include standing and
sitting postures and alignments, breathing exercises
and Qigong circling hands. These seminars are
designed to offer you an easy-access route to some
of the benefits of Qigong, so you'll learn a number
of simple exercises you can work on at home.
Sitting
and standing with good alignments means your body
can relax and your qi can start to sink out of your
head and down your body to your feet, softening your
nerves and strengthening your root.
You can think of your breath as a way to find how to get your mind into your body, quietening the 'monkey mind' and allowing long-held tensions to release.
The soft, continuous action of the circling hands exercises gently allows the body to stop holding on to tensions that may have built up over years. ‘Motion is lotion’ they say, and the whole-body movement, circularity and flow of circling hands can increase blood and qi flow in the body and help lubricate the joints.
