Weekly Qigong Classes - COVID-19 Safety Measures in Place

COVID-19 restrictions mean there are no real-world classes at present. In the meantime, if you've attended any classes in person at Craven Arms, classes continue online on Zoom.

Try Qigong in Craven Arms! Mainly focused on Dragon and Tiger Qigong, these classes are ideal for beginners. It doesn't matter if you've never done Qigong before (or never heard of it!), you're very welcome to come along at any time and try a class for free (please book in advance).

What is Dragon and Tiger Qigong?

Dragon & Tiger
Qigong training outsideHave you ever wanted 'the agility and flexibility of a flying dragon and the relaxed power of a pouncing tiger'? Probably not, or not something you've ever thought of anyway! But what about a set of exercises designed to help keep the lungs (represented by the dragon) and the liver (represented by the tiger) strong and healthy? In fact, Dragon and Tiger Qigong works to benefit all the insides of your body, the bits essential for your  good health and well-being throughout your life. By learning to move and feel the qi in the etheric field around your body, you'll be able to influence the energy meridians inside your body. These exercises have been used for hundreds of years in China to shift stagnant qi. This stagnant qi is believed to be the cause/result of physical and emotional blockages that can lead to ill health. You don't need to know where all the meridians are or anything about them (I don't!) to benefit, you just need to practise the exercises.

Qigong, Qi Gong, Chi Kung and Chi Gung are all different ways of writing the same words. For an explanation, please check out the right hand panel on the Qigong links page. Qigong and Tai Chi are different - Qigong preceded Tai Chi by some 3,500 years and you could think of Qigong as being the essential internal work of Tai Chi, without which Tai Chi becomes an empty series of physical movements. Find out more about what's the same and what's different between Tai Chi and Qigong.
